SKOWHEGAN — William Stinson scored on an error in the bottom of the sixth inning to plate the only run of the game and lift the Skowhegan baseball team to a 1-0 win over Lewiston in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Monday.

Stinson walked, went to second base on Kyle Dugas’ sacrifice bunt. Lewiston pitcher Mike Wong tried for the out at second, but his throw sailed into right field. Stinson scored when the relay throw to the plate was overthrown.

Isaiah Vigue struck out eight, walked three and allowed four hits for the win. Wong gave up three hits for Lewiston. Skowhegan is 2-3, Lewiston is 0-4.

WATERVILLE 8, MCI 5: Cam Gardiner and Ben Cox each had two hits to help the Purple Panthers earn the KVAC B win in Waterville.

Cody Pellerin doubled for Waterville (4-2), which scored five runs in the third inning.

Greg Vigue and Adam Bertrand each had two hits for MCI (1-5).

NOKOMIS 8, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 7: Ray Girror and Zach Hartsgrove each drove in a pair of runs to help the Warriors win the KVAC B game in Newport.

Josh Perry also drove in a run for Nokomis (1-4), and earned the win on the mound.

DIRIGO 4, MADISON 0: The Cougars scored four runs in the fourth inning to take the Mountain Valley Conference win in Dixfield.

Gavin Hebert drove in a pair of runs for Dirigo (2-3), while Cooper Chiasson drove in a run for the Cougars. Gavin Arsenault pitched six innings, allowing two hits and a walk with eight strikeouts, for the win.

Derek LeBlanc had two hits for Madison (2-3).

OXFORD HILLS 13, LAWRENCE 2, 6 innings: Aiden Heikkinen doubled and drove in three runs as the Vikings (5-1) rolled to the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

Derek Bowen went 1-for-3 with an RBI to lead the Bulldogs (2-4).

SOFTBALL

WATERVILLE 10, MCI 6: Gabi Martin and Michaela DeVogt each hit three singles to lead the Purple Panthers to the KVAC B win in Waterville.

Madison Clowes singled and doubled for Waterville (1-5). For MCI (0-5), Sydney Morton singled, doubled and tripled. Mikayla Carr hit three singles for the Huskies.

SKOWHEGAN 12, LEWISTON 0, 6 INNINGS: The Indians had six extra-base hits as they shut out the Blue Devils in Skowhegan.

Eliza Bedard and Wylie Bedard each went 3-for-3 and combined to drive in five runs. Eliza Bedard doubled and homered, while Wylie had two triples. Annie Worthen, Tara Bernard, and Montana Soucier each added two hits. In the circle, Ashley Alward and Kylie Hawkins combined on a four-hit shutout. Skowhegan is now 5-0.

Megan Theriault walked twice and singled for Lewiston (0-6).

MADISON 9, DIRIGO 2: Kayla Bess, Ashley Emery and Erin Whalen each had two hits as the Bulldogs defeated the Cougars in Dixfield.

Whalen and Madeline Wood combined on a four-hitter for Madison (5-0). Wood drove in two runs.

Dirigo is 3-2.

CARRABEC 22, WISCASSET 10, 5 innings: Paige Chadbourne homered and drove in five runs to lead the Cobras to the MVC win in Wiscasset.

Brook Moore drove in four runs for Carrabec (2-3), while Mickayla Willette drove in three runs for the Cobras.

Wiscasset is 1-3.

MESSALONSKEE 8, MT. BLUE 0: Kirsten Pelletier struck out eight and walked none to earn the shutout win for the Eagles in Oakland.

Madisyn Charest had four hits for Messalonskee (4-1). Kristy Prelgovisk and Sarah Bragg each had three singles, while Dakota Bragg hit a single and double for the Eagles.

All three Mt. Blue (2-4) hits came in the second inning, from Rachelle Bator, Taylor Burke and Kayleigh Fontaine.

ERSKINE 12, MOUNT VIEW 10: Taylor McLaggan had two singles and two doubles to lead the Eagles to a win over the Mustangs in Thorndike.

Amber Grady had three hits, including a triple, while Emma Robertson had a single and double for Erskine (3-2).

Kersey Boulay had three singles for Mount View (1-4). Lyndsey Morong added two singles.

OXFORD HILLS 14, LAWRENCE 6, 6 innings: The Vikings improved to 5-1 on the season with a win over the Bulldogs in Fairfield. Lawrence fell to 2-4 with the loss.

TELSTAR 13, MOUNT ABRAM 0, 5 innings: Becca Howard pounded out four hits as the Rebels routed the Roadrunners in Salem.

Ashley Savage and Tehya Johnson also had multiple hits for Telstar (5-0), while Olivia York picked up the win on the mound.

Mount Abram fell to 1-4 with the loss.

NOKOMIS 8, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 1: Sabrina Champluvier, Libby Dunivan and Audrey Temple each had two hits to lead the Warriors past the Phoenix in Newport.

Mikayla Charters and Sydney Hanson each smacked doubles for Nokomis (3-2).

Emily Keene took the loss for Spruce Mountain.

GIRLS LACROSSE

MESSALONSKEE 13, EDWARD LITTLE 5: India Languet scored four goals and assisted on another in the Eagles’ win over the Red Eddies in Oakland.

Lydia Dexter and Nathalie St. Pierre each had three goals and an assist for Messalonskee (3-0).

Francesca-Beth Haines had a hat trick for Edward Little (0-3).

LINCOLN 6, ERSKINE 4: Ashley Mason scored five goals as Lincoln Academy emerged from a 3-3 tie at intermission to defeat Erskine Academy in South China.

Morgan Jeane, Audrey Jordan, Michelle Lemelin and Calie Gregoire scored for the Eagles (1-2) while Malorie Weaver made 12 saves in net.
