Viles Arboretum in Augusta will offer the follow programs:

• Bird Watching for Beginners, 8 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 16. Augusta Bird Club member Gabriella Howard will give an educational and bird watching tour.

• Wildlife presentation by Sparks’ Ark Animal Services from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 18. Meet animals native to Africa and hear stories about animal rescue.

• Hosta auction, Saturday, June 27. Silent auction is set for 10:30-11:30 a.m., the live auction will begin at 1 p.m.

• Viles Arboretum, in partnership with the Maine Living History Association, will host a Civil War Living History Weekend Saturday and Sunday, June 27-28, in the arboretum fields. There will be multiple living history exhibits for the public to view and participate in. A donation of $5 for those 10 years old and older is requested, admission is free for veterans free.
