A Memorial Day ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, May 25, in the parking lot of Wayne Community Church.

Veterans, boys, girls, scouts and anyone with a focus on honoring our veterans should assemble at 10:15 a.m. at the church. The groups will leave the parking lot and proceed down Main Street to Pond Road and back to the Veterans Memorial Stone on Pocasset Lake where a wreath laying ceremony will take place. The parade will then move to the Veterans Memorial Park where the formal program will continue. If it rains, services will begin at 11 a.m. at Ladd Center.

Transportation will be provided for veterans who need a ride in the parade. For a ride, call Peter Ault at 685-4220.

The Maranacook High School and Middle School bands will participate in the services. The guest speaker is Lieutenant Colonel Lorinda Farris, United States Air Force Reserve.

For more information, call Doug Stevenson at 685-9005, Don Welsh at 686-4117 or Peter Ault at 685-4220).
