I am dumbfounded by city councilors’ concern over minimum wages when they should be concerned about the property taxes they impose on the taxpayers of Augusta.
Councilors should concentrate their efforts on trimming the excesses in the city and school budgets for the benefit of the majority, and let businesses handle the wage issues of the tiny minority.
They should do some good for the taxpayers for a change.
Another topic: Shame on Summit Natural Gas for the attempt to have ratepayers fund its advertising (aka: education) campaign as shown in its petition to the Public Utilities Commission.
While I have been interested in natural gas, I would never connect with Summit after this stunt, in addition to the numerous pipe installation errors that have been committed.
Luckily, no one has been killed.
