A Phillips logging truck driver was injured in an early morning crash Wednesday on Route 4 in Avon that sent his load of logs spilling across the highway and into a nearby house, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Steven Boyd Jr., 27, was driving north about 3:30 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a sharp turn and the truck overturned, according to a news release from Sheriff Scott Nichols.

Speed was a factor in the crash, according to the release.

There was no information on injuries to any residents of the house or the extent of the damage to the house.

Boyd was taken by ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. On Wednesday afternoon, the hospital no longer had him listed as a patient. No other information was available.

The truck was coming from Thorndike, the release said.

The Phillips Fire Department assisted at the accident scene.
