Gov. Paul LePage is being criticized by the media for doing the job the taxpayers elected him to do regarding the Good Will-Hinckley charter school. This situation has the bad smell of cronyism and the governor correctly intervened.

Mark Eves, the speaker of the House and an adversary of the charter school system, may be a great person but what does a family therapist have to qualify him to be selected for president of a charter school?

There were 19 applicants for the $120,000-per-year position, how — or better still why — was a family therapist hired? To say nothing about this being the second consecutive speaker of the House hired by the board for this position. The board claims it’s apolitical, but I don’t believe it.
