A $1,000 award is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever broke into a home on River Road in Norridgewock in early April and made off with an estimated $10,000 in jewelry.

Deputy Ron Blodgett, of the Somerset County Sheriff’s office, said Thursday that investigative leads have not turned up a suspect despite visits to area pawn shops and secondhand stores. Among the items taken are an expensive set of pearls and several gold necklaces. None of the items has been recovered.

Blodgett declined to name the victims of the daytime burglary. He would not say how entry was gained into the home.

“We’ve had leads that we’re still following up on, but we’ve had nothing concrete at this point,” he said. “So the family has put up this reward. Somebody always knows something — it’s just finding the right person.”

The sheriff’s office asks anyone with information on the burglary and theft to call Blodgett at 474-9591, ext. 2030, or to call the sheriff’s office’s tip line at 474-0230.
