A fire reported in a mobile home on Litchfield Road early Sunday afternoon damaged the master bedroom, but firefighters were able to save most of the building.

No one from the home was injured. A firefighter from West Gardiner suffered a minor abrasion to his arm.

Fire Chief Stan Labbe, speaking at the scene, said it appeared that the fire originated in a faulty shop vacuum. He said an investigator with the Office of State Fire Marshal would be at the scene on Monday to check that.

The fire was reported knocked down within half an hour.

The home, located near the Route 126 Quick Stop, belongs to Ken Shaw.

Firefighters from Litchfield and West Gardiner responded to the scene.
