OAKLAND — Laurence and Frances Furbush recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. A party was given by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren May 2 at Messalonskee Middle School. More than 100 family and friends attended.

Furbush and the former Frances Robinson were married March 26, 1955, by the Rev. McLain.

They are the parents of Hope Stevens and her husband, Paul, of Oakland; Robin Perreault and her husband, Reggie, of Lebanon; and Aaron Furbush and his wife, Jean (also known as the youngest daughter), of Smithfield. They have nine grandchildren, Gary Norris Jr. and his wife, Dana; Nicholas Wallace and his wife, Lauren; Jason Furbush and his wife, Erin; Lance Wallace; Nathan Stevens and his wife, Emily; Alicia Bedard and her husband, Brett; Amanda Stevens; Chad Stevens and his fiancee, Heather; and Kevin Furbush and his wife, Michelle; and 14 great-grandchildren, Hunter and Hayden Norris, Owen and Olivia Wallace, Kylee, Brayden and Logan Furbush, Haylie and Kaleb Stevens, Codi and Chase Bedard, and Brooklyn, Harper and Isacc Furbush.
