TROY, N.Y. — Approximately 2,700 students at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute were named to the 2015 spring semester dean’s list.

Llocal students include: Alexandra Allen, of Wilton, who studies design, innovation and society; Hunter Belanger, of Dexter, physic; Victoria Butler, of Jefferson, applied physics; Benjamin Congdon-Jones, of Waterville, chemical engineering; Connor Fahy, of Hallowell,games and simulation arts and sciences; Erik Larrabee, of Jackson, aeronautical engineering; Jena Nawfel, of Waterville, biomedical engineering; Samuel Nielsen, of Manchester; civil engineering; Ryan Tozier, of Waterville, mechanical engineering; and Troy Violette, of Wellington, nuclear engineering.

The dean’s list recognizes full-time students who maintain grade-point averages of a minimum of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0 and have no grades below “C.”

Founded in 1824, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is America’s oldest technological research university. For nearly two centuries, the Institute has been a driving force behind breakthroughs in engineering and science in virtually every arena, from transportation and infrastructure to business, medicine, outer space, and cyberspace.
