Drivers on Interstate 95 should expect delays next week as crews replace steel on an overpass in Litchfield.
Traffic stops of up to 25 minutes will occur in both lanes beginning Monday evening at mile 99, Eric Courtney, spokesman for the Maine Department of Transportation, wrote in a news release. The interruption is a result of the placement of structural steel on the Lunts Hill Road bridge.
The stoppages are planned for Monday and Tuesday but may bleed over into Wednesday, Courtney said. The interruptions will take place each night between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning.
All the work is weather-dependent.
Courtney advised drivers to prepare for a delay or seek an alternate route during the hours of the stoppages.
The state will erect message boards to remind drivers of the stoppages and issue notices on the Highway Advisory Radio broadcast at 1610 AM.
