New England Patriots fan Richard Pate is at it again.
The Biddeford man has paid to have a second banner flown over the Maine coast on Monday to send a not-so-subtle message to part-time coastal Scarborough resident NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Goodell’s decision to uphold a four-game suspension of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has made him less than popular with many New Englanders, although Pate has been particularly creative in expressing it.
On Sunday, Pate paid a commercial pilot to tow a banner over Goodell’s Prouts Neck summer home. That banner said: “Comm. Goodell Jet home to N.Y.”
On Monday morning, Pate said he paid for another banner to fly over Old Orchard Beach and Pine Point Beach to Prouts Neck. It was expected to be over the beaches at around noon. Monday’s banner says: “Happy B-Day T-Brady from Maine & Roger G.”
