Verizon Wireless recently presented a $10,000 donation to the Maine Troop Greeters, a nonprofit group of veterans and civilians, that since 2003, have been supporting U.S. armed forces serving overseas by greeting troops who arrive at Bangor International Airport.

To date, the group has greeted close to one-and-a-half million returning service members and collected thousands of pieces of memorabilia. This grant will be used to help develop and maintain the future Maine Troop Greeters Museum — an project which, when completed in late 2017 (expected), will preserve and display thousands of collectibles, including challenge coins, and create a place of remembrance for all who visit Bangor International Airport, according to a Verizon news release.
