A clue for the person who drew the Planned Parenthood editorial cartoon for Aug. 23. Anything that lets someone get pregnant also will allow the transmission of disease.
Abortion will not cure disease. The disease and abortion connection for careless sex would be a reasonable juxtaposition, though even the careful can have an unintended pregnancy.
Presumably, they are recycling a complaint about cutting off supplies of free condoms, where there would be some truth to the connection.
I hope the next cartoon will praise the Donner Party for boldly addressing the problems of hunger, in the same way Planned Parenthood fights disease. They could make cannibalism a positive social statement.
