AUGUSTA — A 37-year-old Farmingdale woman was convicted Friday of an assault that occurred May 6, 2015, in Chelsea.

A jury returned the verdict against April Marie Dupont in a one-day trial at the Capital Judicial Center.

Judge Eric Walker sentenced Dupont to 20 days in jail and fined her $300. She was given credit for 20 days she already served.

The judge said testimony indicated that alcohol was involved. The victim suffered scratches on his neck.

Dupont’s attorney, Kevin Sullivan, told the judge that Dupont, who was recently indicted on two charges of unlawful trafficking in heroin Oct. 3-Dec. 4, 2013, intends to enter guilty pleas.

Dupont remains free on bail on those charges.
