The Iran nuclear arms agreement represents an excellent accomplishment of the Obama administration and should be celebrated.

International reaction to the deal indicates the vast majorities of countries on this planet are pleased with the agreement. Iran has agreed to not pursue nuclear weapons.

Critics of the deal apparently resent that Iran has agreed not to pursue nuclear weapons.

How does this make sense? As a consequence of this agreement, Iran will re-enter the global economy, and as such will be able to market its substantial resources, natural and otherwise.

The removal of sanctions from Iran will allow Iran’s economy to grow; witness the jubilation of young Iranians to the announcement of the end of international economic sanctions.

Opponents to the deal apparently resent an economically self-determined Iran. That is a poor and undignified reason to oppose a peaceful and successful outcome of the negotiations that have successfully removed Iran’s route to nuclear weapons.
