MERCER — Rick Charette will perform at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at Mercer Community Center.

The concert is sponsored by Franklin Savings Bank and the Mercer Community Club, according to a news release from organizers. Tickets cost $6 per person.

Charette has been writing and performing for children for 30 years. His first collection of songs in 1983 “Bubblegum” was followed in 1985 by “Alligator in the Elevator.” The success of these early collections launched a full-time career of writing and performing for young audiences.

Charette shares songs that delight in the joys of childhood. From school-age children and preschoolers to grownups who first heard the songs when they were kids, his audiences are all inclusive where generations enjoy the music together, according to the release.
