In less than a month, Waterville voters will choose city councilors. In Ward 1, Frederick Stubbert is offering himself for re-election. Some have made derogatory comments about his past performance. This is most unfortunate, as his record speaks for itself.

He served on the school board for eight years and the council for 12 years, and has served the Alfond Boys-Girls Center for 22 years.

He has used his engineering skills to design many of the facilities at Camp Tracy, including the innovative two-thirds scale recreation of Fenway Park for Little Leaguers. He has used those same skills to design and restore the grandeur of the Opera House, the design of the Alfond Center and has worked with many officers to design one of the best police buildings in Maine, which now bears his name.

He is a doer, not a politician.
