Maxwell Burger-Roy has been named a Commended Student in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program by Brian Laramee, acting principal of Waterville Senior High School. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, was presented by Laramee to this scholastically talented senior, according to a news release from the high school.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
