Early Friday there were reports of multiple motor vehicle accidents on I-95 in central Maine, according to a dispatcher from the Central Maine Regional Communications Center in Augusta. State police said there were about 15 accidents in all, reportedly related to heavy morning rain.

One of the accidents was reported at around 7:30 a.m. near exit 130 on I-95 south, near the intersection of north Main Street in Waterville. Rescue crews were called and the highway was reportedly reduced to one travel lane, but opened back up shortly after 8 a.m.
