A West Gardiner man was seriously injured Sunday when he crashed his pickup truck on Mount Pisgah Road in Winthrop, police said.

Jacob Dolley, 28, was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with what were believed to be serious injuries, Winthrop Police Chief Ryan Frost said in a news release.

Dolley was alone in the truck and there were no other vehicles involved, Frost said. The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m., as Dolley was driving north on Mount Pisgah Road. Dolley, who was driving “at a high speed,” failed to make a sharp right turn, Frost said.

The truck left the road and crashed into some trees.

“He was belted and was able to get out of the vehicle on his own,” Frost said.

The crash investigation is ongoing, Frost said.
