FAIRFIELD — Sawyer Michaud led three players in double figures with 13 points as the Messalonskee boys basketball team held off Lawrence 58-47 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Friday night.

Nathan Violette and James Lathrop each knocked down a pair of 3-pointers on their way to 12 and 11 points, respectively, while Garrett Main chipped in with nine points in the win.

Mason Cooper had a game-high 23 points to lead Lawrence (0-1).

MADISON 62, TELSTAR 42: The Bulldogs sank 18 of their 24 free throws on their way to a Mountain Valley Conference victory over the Rebels in Madison.

Chase Malloy had a game-high 17 points for Madison (1-0), while Mitch Jarvais and Ty Greene scored two points each. The duo also had eight and seven rebounds, respectively.

Jarrett Bean had 13 points in the loss for Telstar (0-1).

FOREST HILLS 78, VINALHAVEN 39: Dalton Gregoire and Aaron Moffitt each posted double-doubles as the Tigers raced past Vinalhaven in Jackman.

Gregoire finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds while Moffitt notched 16 points and 16 rebounds. Forest Hills (1-0) got 39 combined points from freshmen Jacob Revis (11), Brandon Gilboe (8) and Gregoire in the win.

Ethan Anthony and Max Stanley led Vinalhaven (0-1) with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

RICHMOND 66, RANGELEY 57: Zach Small scored a game-high 29 points to lead the Bobcats to victory over Rangeley in the East-West Conference season-opener.

Matt Holt added 16 points for Richmond (1-0), which jumped out to a 20-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. Ricky Thompson led the Lakers (0-1) with 24 points while Kyle LaRochelle chipped in with 16 points.

MADISON 77, TELSTAR 10: Kayla Bess scored 19 points to lead the Bulldogs to the Mountain Valley Conference victory in Madison.

Madeline Wood added 12 points and eight assists for Madison (1-0) while Lauren Hay had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Becca Howard scored five points for Telstar (0-1).

RICHMOND 42, RANGELEY 40, OT: Sydney Tilton had a game-high 18 points — including a clutch 3-pointer in overtime — as the Bobcats held on for an East-West Conference win in Rangeley.

Tilton’s triple gave Richmond (1-0) the lead for good with about 90 seconds remaining. Rangeley (0-1) had a chance to tie it at the free throw line with 5.5 seconds to play but could not convert.

Ashley Abbott had nine points in the win while Mackenzie Abbott chipped in with seven. Blayke Morin and Sydney Royce paced the Lakers with 13 points each.

WINSLOW 61, MOUNT VIEW 27: The Black Raiders raced out to a 26-4 lead after the first quarter and never looked back in Winslow.

Heather Kervin sank five 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 23 points as Winslow (1-0) made 11 3-pointers on the night. Paige Trask made four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points in the win.

Andrea Crosby led Mount View (0-1) with 12 points.

WATERVILLE 40, CAMDEN HILLS 34: A 17-7 fourth quarter run helped the Purple Panthers take the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win from the Windjammers in Waterville.

Jordan Jabar had 14 points for Waterville (1-0). Sophie Webb added eight points for the Panthers.

Maddie Bowman led Camden Hills (0-1) with nine points.

VINALHAVEN 60, FOREST HILLS 53: Linda Reiley scored a game-high 32 points but it was not enough as the Tigers fell in Jackman.

Ashlyn Littlefield paced Vinalhaven (1-0) with 17 points, Deja Doughty had 16 and Skylar Sandbourne chipped in with 11.

Caitlin Logston added 11 points for Forest Hills (0-1).

HAMPDEN 33, SKOWHEGAN 27: The Broncos scored 19 of their 33 points at the foul line to pick up a KVAC A win over the Indians in Skowhegan.

Peyton Smith and Marissa Gilpin scored eight points apiece to pace Hampden (1-0), which out-scored Skowhegan (0-1) 14-9 in the fourth quarter.

Alyssa Everett and Sydney Reed had six points each for the Indians.
