Bird Photography, 7 p.m. May 17, Wells

Join York County Audubon as photographer Michael Milicia presents a selection of bird images along with commentary intended to inform, entertain and inspire. This program will be of interest to photographers of all abilities. Using examples, Milicia will demonstrate the importance of things like head angle, composition, knowing your subject and being proactive in the field. The program is free and open to the public. Adventure Race, 8 a.m. May 14, Danforth

Join the students at East Grand School for their annual adventure race that will involve a 1.5-mile off-trail compass run, a 10-mile mountain bike race, another eight miles of paddling and some obstacles. Competitors can race in pairs, groups or individually. The entry fee is $20 per person, which includes a T-shirt, lunch and prizes for youth divisions. Proceeds benefit East Grand School’s outdoor education program. The registration deadline is May 13.
