The Maine Spirit of America Foundation Recognition Ceremony was recently held at the Hall of Flags at the Capitol in Augusta. More than 70 people from across the state were recognized for their volunteer efforts.
Directors and guest speakers included Jon James, recently retired radio personality and guest speaker; Amy Fowler, county commissioner for Waldo County and foundation director; Irene Belanger, foundation director; Maeghan Maloney, district attorney for Kennebec and Somerset counties; David Worthing, foundation vice president and chairman of this event;Bruce Flaherty, foundation founding father; Dana Wrigley, foundation director; and Terrance McCabe, foundation president.
Guest speakers included Wayne Mitchell, professional motivational speaker; Sen. Roger Katz, R- Augusta, and Patricia Aho, State Office Representative for U.S. Sen. Susan M. Collins.
