WAYNE — A Memorial Day Ceremony is set for Monday May 30.

Veterans, boy and girl scouts, and anyone with a focus on honoring veterans should assemble at the Wayne Community Church’s parking lot at 10:15 a.m. for an 11 a.m. parade. The parade will proceed down Main Street to Pond Road and back to the Veterans Memorial Stone on Pocasset Lake where a wreath laying ceremony will take place.

Then, parade participants will go to the Veterans Memorial Park where the formal program will continue. If it rains, services will be at 11 a.m. at the Ladd Center.

Transportation will be provided for any veteran who need a ride in the parade call David Ault at 685-4578.

The Maranacook High School and Middle School bands will participate in the Memorial Day Services. Guest speaker will be Colonel Christopher Ireland, United States Air Force.

“Those Who Served — A Salute to Wayne Veterans,” an exhibit of photos and memorabilia will open Saturday, May 28, at the Cary Library’s Williams House, 14 Old Winthrop Road.

Hours will be 10 a.m.-noon May 28; noon-2 p.m. Monday, May 30, following the Wayne Memorial Day parade and ceremony; 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 1; and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 4.
