The University of Maine recently announced that Allison Scully and Sage Duguay, both 2013 Waterville High School graduates, were named to the All Maine Women Honor Society.

The honor society was founded in 1925 to recognize distinguished leadership, scholarship and service to the University and to the community by outstanding women of the incoming senior class, according to a news release.

Scully and Duguay were two of 12 women named to the Honor Society for 2016. Both women have achieved significant academic accomplishments in their respective majors of study, as well as being identified for exemplary community service.

Scully, a nursing major, is the president of the Maine and Orono Student Nursing Association, membership director of Best Buddies of Maine, as well as a Sigma Theta Tau honor society member. She will be interning at the Mayo Clinic this summer in the Neonatal ICU.

Duguay, a chemical engineering major, is the president of TREE, Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society, student vice president of the UMaine Pulp and Paper Foundation executive committee and a member of the UMaine track and field team.
