CRAWFORD NOTCH, N.H. — New Hampshire Fish and Game officials say a 66-year-old Maine hiker was rescued after injuring her ankle on the Webster Cliff Trail in Beans Grant – a section of the White Mountain National Forest.

Authorities say Kristine Larson of Bridgton was injured at about 5 p.m. Friday when she slipped and hurt her ankle.

Rescuers from multiple organizations responded with a litter and carried her down the rough and rocky trail, nearly 3 miles to the trailhead. They arrived at the trailhead just before midnight.

Larson was transported to Memorial Hospital in North Conway for treatment.
