READFIELD — Avery Beckwith turned in a strong performance on the mound and the Maranacook baseball team sank Medomak Valley 6-2 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Tuesday.

Beckwith kept the Panthers off the scoreboard in his four innings of work to pick up his sixth win of the season for the Black Bears.

Mark Buzzell paced the Maranacook (10-6) offense with a pair of hits. Jackson Vail finished with three hits for Medomak Valley (5-11).

MESSALONSKEE 4, CONY 1: Josh Joy gave up four hits to earn the win as the Eagles closed the regular season with a KVAC A victory in Augusta.

Joy also doubled for Messalonskee (9-7). Connor Perry had two singles for Cony (6-10).

SOFTBALL

RICHMOND 15, VALLEY 0, 5 innings: The Bobcats plated 11 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning in an East/West Conference win in Richmond.

Sydney Tilton had two hits — including a double — and five RBIs to pace Richmond (15-0) while Kelsea Anair finished with two singles and a double.

Meranda Martin added three singles and two RBIs in the win.

Charlie Savoy and Samantha West had the lone hits for Valley (1-13).

GIRLS TENNIS

NO. 8 ERSKINE 3, NO. 9 ELLSWORTH 2: Top two singles players Ellie Hodgkin and Jordan Bowie each won their matches in straight sets as the Eagles advanced in the Class B North tournament.

Samantha BeDen and Cassandra Ray teamed up for a 6-4, 6-2 win over Avery Jester and Kelsie Boyer to give Erskine (6-7) the final point it needed to clinch the match victory.

BOYS LACROSSE

MESSALONSKEE 18, GARDINER 7: Dylan Jones and Connor Smith each scored four goals to pace the Eagles to a KVAC win at Thomas College in Waterville.

Austin Pelletier added two goals and two assists for Messalonskee (9-3) while Jack Bernatchez scored two goals as well. Will Weeks finished with one goal and three assists in the win.

Connor Manter had three goals and an assist to pace Gardiner (5-7) while Warren Karlberg made 11 saves.
