WATERVILLE — Connor Smith scored six goals and Dylan Jones added four goals and two assists as the Messalonskee boys lacrosse team won the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A championship game with a come-from-behind 18-15 victory over Brunswick on Saturday at Thomas College.

Messalonskee trailed 13-10 in the fourth quarter before scoring eight goals to earn the victory.

Dylan Burton scored three goals and added three assists while Jack Bernatchez scored two goals for the Eagles. Will Weeks, Austin Pelletier, Alden Balboni also scored for the victors.

Messalonskee will play Edward Little in a Class A North quarterfinal Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Thomas College.

CLASS B NORTH

MT. BLUE 6, LINCOLN 5, OT: Reed Wells scored the game-winning goal with 2:04 left in overtime to give the Cougars a Class B North preliminary round victory. Joe Bowering and Wells each scored twice for Mt. Blue (6-7). Liam Welch and Cordell Ellis also scored for the Cougars. Alex Gilbert made nine saves. Nolen Michael had a hat trick for Lincoln (6-7) and Nate Simmons added two goals. Henry Deoffrion made 16 saves.

KVAC B BASEBALL

WINSLOW 2, ERSKINE 0: Tanner Jackson pitched a complete game shutout, striking out three and allowing five hits as the Black Raiders won the KVAC B crown. Caleb Barden had three hits for Erskine.

KVAC B GIRLS LACROSSE

MORSE 10, GARDINER 4: Paige Daigle, Maddy Olsen, Isabelle Paulus and Noa Sreden each scored four goals to pace the Shipbuilders to the title.

Amanda Gagne and Madison Savary also scored for Morse. Zenaide McCarthy stopped nine shots. Morse, the No. 1 seed in Class B North, begins the playoffs Wednesday when it hosts the winner of the Oceanside/Cony preliminary game.

Hailee Lovely, Evelyn Hinkley, Skye Lavoie and Nickyia Lovely each scored for Gardiner. Kaylin Mansir made 10 saves. The No. 4 Tigers host No. 5 Boothbay in the B North quarterfinals at 4 p.m., Wednesday.

CLASS C SOUTH BOYS TENNIS

HALL-DALE 4, ST. DOMINIC 1: The third-seeded Bulldogs won all three singles match and first doubles to earn the upset in Auburn.

Hall-Dale’s Andrew Peterson won a tough three-setter against Noah Toussaint. After dropping the first set 2-6, Peterson went on to win the next two, 7-6 and 6-1. In second singles, Malcolm Avore of Hall-Dale topped Sam Blaisdell 6-4, 6-3 and Hall-Dale’s Jacob Crockett won third singles 6-3, 6-4 over Drew Greco. In doubles action, Hall-Dale’s Alex Guiou and Josh Benner beat Matt Boulet and Cam Jalbert 7-5 and 6-4. St. Dominic got its only win at second doubles from the team of Cliff Greco and Elliott Hachey, who beat Mackenzie Creamer and Ean Smith 6-1, 6-2.

Hall-Dale is now 13-1 and plays No. 4 Waynflete, which upset top-ranked Boothbay, 4-1. St. Dominic finished 12-2.

CLASS A NORTH GIRLS TENNIS

BRUNSWICK 3, MT. BLUE 2: The No. 3 Cougars got wins at first and second singles but could not get another and fell in the semifinals to No. 2 Brunswick.

Eryn Doiron and Sophie Swain picked up wins for Mt. Blue (10-4). Doiron won a three-setter over Kira Wolpow 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 while Swain topped Cassie Ridge in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Elizabeth Day of Brunswick beat Jennie Chen 6-2, 6-3 and then the Dragons (13-1) won both doubles. Katharine Kunhardt and Gillian Doehring defeated Mt. Blue’s Hannah LeClair and Britlin Karkos 6-0, 6-0 and then Sabina Smith and Rae Bamberger topped Lilly Kendall and Sierra Hoes 3-6, 6-0, 7-5.
