The Alfond Municipal Pool in Waterville opened recently, and city residents are taking advantage of the warm weather by diving in.

The pool opened for the season June 18, and its hours are 12:30 to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It closes Aug. 21. Residents of the city or anyone who owns or rents property in Waterville can use the pool and water slides for a fee. Non-residents can also use the pool and the water slides for a higher fee. For a fee schedule, rules and other information, go to waterville-me.gov/parks.

Some 21,900 people visited the Alfond Municipal Pool Complex last year, according to the city’s Parks and Recreation Department, for an average of 377 people a day for the 58 days that the pool was open.
