VASSALBORO — the 15th annual Lucy Cobb Browne Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Monday, Aug. 1, at Natanis Golf Course’s Tomahawk course.

Registration starts at 8 a.m., scramble at 9 a.m. with luncheon and awards to follow at 2:30 p.m.

Proceeds from the tournament help ensure the continuation of Hope’s Place, a Hospice Volunteers of Waterville Area program for grieving children, teens and their families.

Local businesses can sponsoring a team, a hole, a cart or by providing gift in kind donations. Sponsorships are recognized in HVWA’s monthly newsletter, the website and Facebook.

Tournament highlights include opportunities to compete for prizes donated by local businesses. Prizes will be awarded for best gross and net scores, straightest fairway drive, longest drive for men and women and putting contest. A luncheon and presentation of awards will follow.

The entrance fee is $125 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, a cart rental, strings and mulligan’s, special hole contests, other tournament prizes, refreshments and lunch.

The scramble format with team and individual contests will provide all with a full day of fun, laughter and satisfaction.

Participants are needed and early registration is encouraged.
