FALMOUTH — The Augusta 13-year-old Babe Ruth team came from behind in the late innings to beat Scarborough-South Portland 5-3 to win the state championship on Monday.

Augusta moves on to the New England tournament in Rochester, New Hampshire, where it will open pool play against the host team on Sunday.

Down 3-1 in the fourth inning, Augusta tied the game on Lucas Anderson’s two-run double. Augusta took the lead in the fifth, when Bobby Stolt hit an RBI double.

Logan Dupont earned the win, pitching into the seventh.

“Logan’s effort was spectacular,” coach Jason Douin said. “He located his fastball great and his curve was fantastic. An excellent performance.”

After Scarborough-South Portland led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a triple, Augusta called on Akira Warren for the save. Warren got a strikeout, groundout to second base and a flyout to center field to end the game.
