The annual Central Maine Egg Festival is one of my favorite events of the year. I want to thank the town of Pittsfield, the Egg Festival Committee and all the volunteers and supporters for putting on such a wonderful event. The Egg Festival is the highlight of the summer and, as always, went off without a hitch. The event is steeped in tradition, and this was the 44th year of celebrating Pittsfield’s heritage in the egg production market.

Every year, the festival attracts more than 30,000 visitors to our small town. They get to enjoy events for adults and children, sample local food and learn about all that central Maine has to offer.

The week of events leading up to the Famous Big Parade were excellent. The Pittsfield Historical Society welcomed visitors to learn about Pittsfield’s remarkable heritage, the Kiwanis Karnival had rides and games for children, and local musicians put on concerts across town.

It is always inspiring to see everyone come together to enjoy events that reflect Pittsfield and central Maine’s history. I cannot thank all the volunteers and supporters of this event enough for their hard work in putting on such a fantastic event.
