WILTON — The members of the Wilton Fish & Game Association will host an open house Saturday, Aug. 6, at its facility at 240 U.S. Route 2. Club members will prepare for a busy day during the Blueberry Festival.

Members ask festival visitors to stop by their booth downtown with questions about membership to the association. Raffle tickets for a .308 Caliber Winchester/7.62 X 51mm, manufactured and donated by Windham Weaponry, will be available for sale. Tickets for the fundraiser and wall of guns will also be available.

Game Warden Kris MacCabe will be at the open house with the MDIFW Operation Game Thief Trailer through out the day.

The WF&G also will hold its annual fundraising event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those interested can test their shooting skill with the shooting gallery, shoot a Gatling Gun, or try the 1 Shot Gun Challenge. There will be several new shooting events.

Basic Compound Bow Archery will be available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., under the direction of Ashley McCormick, a certified instructor.

Will Sampson will demonstrate how to build a bow at 1 p.m.

Visitors also can bring their own ammunition, shotgun, eye and ear protection and shoot trap from 1 to 4 p.m.

Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided by the youth shooting league.

The association holds its meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month. For more information, call 897-3027.
