AUGUSTA — Food Fest is set for 2-6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the Farmers’ Market in Mill Park, 1 Water St.

Attendees can get a visual and literal taste of what’s in season, enjoy local food, learn cooking tips, and enjoy family-friendly activities.

MaineGeneral Health will provide food demonstrations and samples and vendors will talk about how to use what is in season from the market.

This week will also be Maine Farmers’ Markets Snapshot Week, a fun way to highlight and support your local farmers’ market, and help tell the story of Maine farmers growing the food that feeds the communities. There will be activities and freebies, and children’s activities will include a bounce house.

The Maine Harvest Bucks SNAP bonus program will be in full swing, this program helps low-income Mainers buy local food by giving incentive dollars towards fruits and vegetables that effectively double their EBT money when they buy their food at the Farmers’ Market.

The Farmers’ Market is open 2-6 p.m. every Tuesday through November.
