FARMINGTON — A Nordica Day concert is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, in Nordica Auditorium featuring the winner of the Nordica Scholarship, Christopher Garrepy, counter-tenor. The scholarship is awarded annually to an outstanding singer in Maine.

Garrepy is a voice performance major at USM where he studies with Ellen Chickering. He is also the 2016 recipient of the Eleanor Erdman and Diane Nixon Vocal Excellence Award from Bay Chamber Concerts. He will be accompanied by Scott Wheatley on piano.

Garrepy recently appeared in the role of Ottone in the USM production of Monteverdi’s Coronation of Poppea. He has also sung with many choral groups in New England including St. Mary Schola, which performed in Farmington this past May.

The concert is free, although donations will be accepted. Refreshments will be served following the concert.
