Robin’s Flower Pot in Farmington is holding a benefit garden party for Literacy Volunteers from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, on at the nursery on Webster Road.

There will be local authors talking about their writing, Tai Chi and square dancing demonstrations, music by The Merry Plinksters and Eddie Yuen playing Chinese music on erhu and flute, a petting zoo, massage therapy, wine and beer tasting, home-made salsa contest. Light refreshments will be served. There will be hourly door prize drawings and a free book table by Literacy Volunteers Travelling Library. Suggested donation is $20 for adults and $5 for children younger than 18.
