The Kennebec Valley Community Action Program and Kennebec Valley Community College are working together to provide playgroups for children five and younger and their parents. These Discovery Groups are part of the KVCC Family Lab and Nature Exploration Program and take place weekly on the KVCC Hinckley Campus.
Discovery Groups offer a free, fun way for families to come together and learn about child development while connecting with nature. They offer hands on activities involving science, technology, engineering and math, using nature exploration and outdoor fun.
Each week participants receive a healthy snack, such as fresh vegetables from KVCC’s farm, and take-home recipes and activities.
