AUGUSTA — The Kennebec Valley Organization will host a forum featuring candidates for the Maine Legislature and other offices from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at the St. Augustine Parish Hall, 75 Northern Ave.

KVO is a coalition of churches, labor groups, faith based institutions and community leaders that advocate for social and economic justice at the local and state levels. The forum will allow members of KVO organizations and others to meet with candidates, ask questions on critical issues, and to foster civil engagement in our political process.

Candidates will hear from individuals with direct experience on water quality, adult education, transportation, and early childhood education. Candidates will also be asked to briefly answer direct questions about these subject areas.

The KVO was founded in 2005 as a regional faith and values based organization of religious congregations, local unions, and community organizations to bring people together to build relationships, develop leadership, and work together on issues of shared concern.
