We support Jim Torbert for House District 88 because he has real political skills. We mean “political skills” in the positive sense that the term used to embody and in a way that is so sadly lacking in what passes for policy debate at all levels of government today.
Jim demonstrates those skills by the way he listens deeply to all points of view. He thinks things through based on his years of experience as a teacher, farmer, elected town official, nonprofit board member, family man and intrepid volunteer for many local causes.
Jim seeks solutions that bring people and divergent positions together rather than simply scoring political points. He is a man who truly understands that politics is the art of the possible, not the perfect.
We need Jim and more people like him to address our state’s many problems and to build a better future for coming generations.
