SKOWHEGAN — Cedar Ridge Center recently held its Annual Harvest Dance. The theme for this year’s event was Country and Western.
Residents, their families and staff dressed in Cowboy Western wear and were served Sarsaparilla, Birch Beer, Ginger Beer, Apple Cider and an assortment of fall treats.
The Recreation area was made over in the likeness of a 19th Century Western Saloon, complete with a non-alcoholic bar. The walls boasted wagon wheels, card board cut out cows, horses and pigs.
Singer Mark Gentle, of Farmington, entertained the crowd and kept the dance floor full.
Last year’s harvest King and Queen, Robert and Roberta Chadbourne, passed on their crowns to the newly appointed Harvest Hoe Down King and Queen, David and Sheila Robbins. The Robbins were given a royal ride in a 1923 Model A Ford owned and driven by David and Leah Mayo of Anson.
