AUGUSTA — A grand jury in Kennebec County returned indictments Thursday against a number of people.

An indictment is not a determination of guilt, but it indicates that there is enough evidence to proceed with formal charges and a trial.

Arraignments will be scheduled later at the Capital Judicial Center.

Two men — Andrew Neil Hopkins, 24, of Chelsea, and Zachary Ryan Magee, 25, of Augusta — were indicted on charges of robbery, assault and theft by unauthorized taking that occurred Sept. 27, 2016, in Augusta. The indictments say the two stole a cellphone from the victim of the attack, which was reported as it was in progress that afternoon at Le Club Calumet.

Augusta police found the two suspects in the woods near the club. The district attorney’s office also indicated its intent to try the two men together.

A father and son were indicted on charges related to a 2013 burglary and theft at Pike Industries in Sidney.
