I laughed after the election of Donald Trump when the news media and the political pros were aghast at the upset over Hillary Clinton. They just couldn’t figure it out. They shook their heads and wrung their hands. They didn’t have a clue. Their reaction was not surprising, however, because they don’t have a clue about middle-class Americans.

The media and the political elite think they know everything, but they know nothing. The barrage of insults against the voters who supported Trump only made those voters more determined. We were deplorable, despicable, and non-college educated, inferring that we were not educated enough to know what we were doing. The reality is that college makes you educated, but it doesn’t make you smart. Just try to get your car fixed without a mechanic, or your leak fixed without a plumber, or your electrical problem fixed without an electrician, or your meal served without a waitress. These are the hard-working people who keep this country running, but you didn’t listen to us. This was not an election of Republican vs. Democrat. It was an election of hard-working Americans vs. arrogant elites.

Throughout all this I watched this newspaper hammer away at us with constant liberal bias against Donald Trump and his supporters. Oh, there was an occasional cartoon that wasn’t biased against Trump, but they were few and far between. It was very disappointing. I had hoped that this would end after the election, but it hasn’t.

Consequently, I have come to the conclusion that I don’t need to start my morning with all this negativity. I have bought this newspaper for over 50 years, but I am done. Sadly, you have pushed too far, and I have not renewed my subscription.
