A Solon man who was hospitalized Monday in a snowmobile accident on private property near his home has been charged with operating to endanger, a spokesman for the Maine Warden Service said Wednesday.

Louis J. Roderick, 49, of McCarty Road, suffered a minor cut on his head and was taken by ambulance to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, according to Cpl. John MacDonald, public relations and information officer for the Maine Warden Service.

Warden Jared Herrick investigated the crash about 2:40 p.m. Monday near Roderick’s home on private property.

MacDonald said speed and alcohol probably are contributing causes in the crash. A Somerset County assistant district attorney was involved in the decision to charge him with operating to endanger, he said.
