All veterans should be respected. Edward Leonard, a veteran I interviewed, taught me that Vietnam War veterans did not get a lot of respect.
He was one of them. He did not get any letters from his siblings. Nobody paid attention to him when he got home. He was not respected as a veteran should be.
You should say “thank you” and use manners around veterans, make food for them, and visit them. You should also thank them for their service and respect them because they fought for the freedom of our country.
