AUGUSTA — Cony overcame a five-point deficit midway through the fourth quarter, riding back-to-back 3-pointers from Nate and Austin Parlin to post a 69-63 win over Brewer in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference boys basketball season opener on Friday night.

For the night, Cony shot 13 of 42 from behind the 3-point arc (31 percent) to power the victory.

Jordan Roddy, who had a team-high 22 points, scored nine straight points over the final minutes to seal the win for the Rams (1-0).

“We shot the ball well and turned them over,” Cony coach T.J. Maines said. “Nate and Austin hit those threes, and we never trailed again. It was fun.”

Roddy added six steals and five assists in the win.

Kobe Rogerson led all scorers with 24 points, including five treys, for Brewer (0-1).

HALL-DALE 72, LISBON 66, OT: Jett Boyer scored 35 points and hit seven 3-pointers, allowing the Bulldogs to come away with the Mountain Valley Conference win in overtime after Lisbon erased a 10-point fourth-quarter lead.

Tyler Nadeau added 15 points for Hall-Dale, while Alec Byron scored 10. Alec Roberts chipped in seven points.

Jonah Sautter scored 22 points for Lisbon, while Henry Doyle had 12 and Sean Scott scored 11.

OCEANSIDE 53, ERSKINE 41: Nate Raye scored a game-high 23 points to lift the Mariners to the KVAC B win in South China.

Cooper Wirkala added 12 points for Oceanside (1-0).

Jack Jowett led Erskine (0-1) with 18 points while Noah Bonsant chipped in 10.

RICHMOND 62, RANGELEY 50: Matt Holt scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Bobcats to the East/West Conference victory in Richmond.

Zach Small had 14 points and nine rebounds for Richmond (1-0), while Cody Tribbet hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 14. Matt Rines chipped in six assists.

Ricky Thompson scored 24 points for Rangeley (0-1), while Carl Trafton scored 11.

WINTHROP 79, OAK HILL 48: Jacob Hickey had 20 points to pace the host Ramblers to the MVC win.

Cam Wood added 14 points for Winthrop (1-0) while Spencer Steele scored 13. Garrett Tsouprake (11 points) and Jared McLaughlin (10) were also in double figures.

Oak Hill (0-1) was led by Cohen Donnell and Darryn Bailey with eight points apiece.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

GARDINER 68, MEDOMAK VALLEY 30: Mary Toman had 11 points, nine rebounds and five steals to spark the Tigers to the KVAC A win in Waldoboro.

Lauren Chadwick added 17 points and five assists for Gardiner (1-0) and Leslie Stevens chipped in 13 points and five steals.

Medomak Valley (0-1) was led by Chelsea Ripley with 14 points.

MONMOUTH 62, CARRABEC 17: Destiny Clough and Maddie Amero each scored eight points to lead a balanced attack as the Mustangs prevailed in the MVC opener for both.

Libby Clement, Hannah Anderson and Tia Day each scored seven for the Mustangs (1-0).

Bailey Dunphy scored eight points to pace the Cobras (0-1).

LISBON 56, HALL-DALE 28: Elana Russell had a game-high 21 points, including three 3-pointers, as the Greyhounds won the MVC opener in Farmingdale.

Kalin Le added 18 points for Lisbon (1-0).

Sabrina Freeman had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Hall-Dale (0-1),
