FARMINGTON — The Farmington Public Library and Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset counties will host its annual poetry contest.

The four age categories are 0 to 10, 11 to 17, 18 to 25 and 26 and older. The contest opened Feb. 1. Poems must be submitted by Friday, March 24, to the Farmington Public Library, 117 Academy St.

Name, age and contact information must be on the back of the poem, not on the front.

All poets retain intellectual rights to their poems. Hard copies of poems will not be returned and the names of the winners will be published. The winners will be notified by April 13.

There are three prizes for each category: First prize is $25, second prize is $15, third prize is a $5.

The public reading of the winning poems is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, April 27, at the Farmington library.
