WINN — A driver won’t serve jail time for a head-on collision that killed a Maine man in Penobscot County more than two years ago.
WABI-TV reports that Brad Curtis was sentenced to do 361 hours of community service and lost his license for three years in connection with the death of David Smart, 67, of Mattawamkeag.
Curtis was charged with a motor vehicle violation resulting in death in the August 2014 crash in Winn. Police say Curtis crossed the center line and hit a car in which Smart was a passenger. Smart later died at the hospital.
