Highlights of the Carrabassett Valley Town Meeting and election, held Wednesday.

BUDGET: $2,501,287

MAJOR ITEMS APPROVED: $204,016 for an indoor recreation center called the Anti-Gravity Complex (with $100,000 to be offset by revenue), $209,793 for solid waste disposal and recycling (with $10,000 toward a sand shed at the transfer station), $198,600 for employee benefits and requirements, $144,202 for officers’ salaries, $140,860 for transportation services, $134,066 for police protection, $86,381 for Fire Department operating expenses, $86,015 for ambulance service subsidy (North Star EMS), $80,000 for the new mountain location fire station reserve fund, $78,897 for code enforcement.

MAJOR ITEMS REJECTED: none

ATTENDANCE: 80

CONTESTED ELECTIONS: John (Jay) Reynolds was re-elected to another three-year term on the Select Board. Kimberley Kearing and Earle Morse were re-elected to three-year terms on the School Committee. Robert Briggs was re-elected to a three-year term as Sanitary District trustee.
