AUGUSTA — An interactive touch tank exhibit, including animals like sea starts, a horseshoe crab, and a blue lobster, is open at The Children’s Discovery Museum, 171 Capitol St.

The museum works with the Maine State Aquarium to obtain the animals living in the tank. When the museum first brought the lobster to Augusta it was red but turned blue after molting several weeks later.

The touch tank is opened every day at 11:45 a.m. to allow visitors to touch and hold the sea creatures, and visitors can always view the tank when it’s not open for handling the creatures.

Admission to the museum cost $6 for nonmembers.
